Suzanne, it's just unbelieveable that your son is still under stop-loss after more than 90 days! My son just called and said his orders for deployment have been moved back again until the end of March and that nobody is getting out from under stop-loss regardless of when they were supposed to be discharged. He told us that the soldiers are so discouraged and feel completely hopeless. It just doesn't seem possible that nothing can be done about this practice and I cetainly hope that all your hard work and the publicity will make the public more aware of what is really going on with our children. I continue to write letters and send e-mails which appears to do nothing but make me feel a little better. Reply to this
My son had to have surgery on his leg that he should have had when he got back from Iraq the first time. As soon as he receives medical clearance, he will be deployed (some time in December). He feels discouraged and hopeless, too. This is so unfair. The movie will be out in March 2008 and I have a feeling that the Army's recruitment numbers are going to plummet and they will get exactly what they deserve. Tell your son NOT to re-enlist. My son refused. I am glad that your son's date got moved back because they will probably start the troop surge drawdown in the summer and it may not be necessary for him to go. Take care and keep me informed.

As a stop-lossed (and 15 month extended) enlisted soldier surrounded by a platoon of the same I just want to say thanks for what you are doing. Even in our unit we get shrugs and "who knows" looks from our command about our future. It's frustrating when you are trying to start your life over.

It breaks my heart to hear that so many soldiers are literally being held against their wills. God bless you! I will continue to fight this unconstitutional policy. I pray that you stay safe and that you will be home soon. Thanks for your best wishes for my son.

I thank you for the work you are doing. So many people are shocked about the statistics, even to the point of calling us liars when we tell them the truth. It seems they want to shut us up. Why is it that I tend to see this more from the party that I was lotal to for years, the GOP? I am sick of people playing politics with my son's life and his family. They don't have the manpower, yet they won't start the draft. We have to force a draft. Thanks for all you do. Reply to this

I am so glad you are speaking out about this. My husband was getting out of the army in December 2008 after 9 years of service, but because of stop loss he will be serving until Feb 2010 instead. It isn't right. We have three small children- the youngest of which my husband didn't meet until my son was 7 months old. We just want to be a family and avoid being one of the thousands of families the military has torn apart. Reply to this

Thanks for being a true patriot. Those who expect us to blindly follow as they redefine our values commit the most cowardly and traitorous acts, the abuse of our trust and of their power. Keep up the fight. You always have the support of cammmo.org.
